I have been painting all my life and after winning places in shows from an early age I have continued to follow the art path.
My studio, a magical place, is located in a forest acreage on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and is the inspiration for many of my nature and wildlife-based works.
Looking out of my windows which are surrounded by trees, I have come face to face with bears, cougars and deer and any number of small forest animals and birds and allows me a firsthand view of how they live their lives.
My partner and I (a photographer Gabriel Taschereau) share our space with rescue dogs and cats and even a wolf. What was once our horse barn is now converted into an on-site gallery and showcases not only our images, but some curated work of other local artists.
I paint and draw in all medium, and love to experiment with new ideas. I do take a few commissions each year but mostly get to paint what I like. Some would say a perfect occupation.
Hope to see you at the gallery, open anytime by appointment, or drop in Saturday and Sunday 10 to 4. Studio tours happen a couple of times a year, sign up for our newsletter to find out more.
